Actors for 2014-2015 Season: The Grapes of Wrath, KATE - The Unexamined Life of Katharine Hepburn (world premiere), It's A Wonderful Life - The Musical, Nunsense, Julius Caesar, The Whipping Man, The Pirates of Penzance.

Preparation
Prepare 2 monologues - each lasting 2 minutes or less - one comic, one dramatic; also to be considered for musicals - prepare up to a 1 minute song selection: Bring sheet music in appropriate key, accompanist provided.

The Grapes of Wrath (Play) - Adapted by Frank Galati from the novel by John Steinbeck - All Roles Open including Tom Joad, Jim Casy, Ma Joad, Pa Joad, Granma, Grampa, Uncle John, Rose of Sharon, Connie Rivers, Noah Joad, and various other character types; ages and style appropriate to original 1939 novel. Kate - The Unexamined Life of Katharine Hepburn (World Premiere Play) - By Rick Foster - 2 character play: Role of Katharine Hepburn has been cast; Mr. Rotterdam - stage hand and caretaker to Ms. Hepburn - age open. (2nd Stage)

It's A Wonderful Life - The Musical (Musical) - Book and Lyrics by Keith Ferguson, Music by Bruce Greer, from the screenplay by Goodrich, Hackett, Capra, and Swerling - Roles include all familiar characters from the movie version: George Bailey (baritenor), Mary Bailey (soprano), Henry Potter (talk singing), Clarence (musical comedy voice), Uncle Billy, Mr. and Mrs. Martini (opera voices), Mother and Pop Bailey, Harry Bailey, Violet Bick, Sam Wainwright, Mr. Gower, Cousin Tilly, Mayor, Bert, Ernie, Mrs. Hatch, etc. All roles are singing roles. Nunsense (Musical) - Book, Lyrics and Music by Dan Groggin - Roles for five (5) females include Mother Superior (Sophie Tucker type), Sister Mary Hubert (2nd in command - competitive), Sister Robert Anne (street-wise Brooklyn type), Sister Mary Leo (a novice who wants to become a ballerina), and Sister Mary Amnesia (wacky but very sweet). Julius Caesar - By William Shakespeare - Roles include Caesar, Calpurnia, Marc Antony, Octavius, Cicero, Brutus, Cassius, Casca, Portia, Flavius, etc. - classic text/dialogue done in a contemporary setting. (Mainstage)

The Whipping Man - By Matthew Lopez - All Roles Open - 3 characters: Caleb - young, white, thin Confederate Captain; Simon - middle-aged, black, older; John - young, black, somewhat feral. (2nd Stage)

The Pirates of Penzance - By Gilbert & Sullivan - Roles include Major General (comic baritone), Pirate King (bass-baritone), Samuel (baritone), Frederic (tenor), Sergeant of Police (bass), Mabel (soprano), Edith (mezzo-soprano), Kate (mezzo-soprano), Ruth (contralto), and various other characters.
