BREAKDOWN
One
(60’s). Your mother. A tourist. She read about Restaurant on The Yelp and wanted to try it. She still sends Hallmark cards and clips coupons/comics.
Two
(60’s). Your father. A tourist. He came to Restaurant because his wife wanted to - he'd be just as happy in a park with a NY hot dog and his bird watching gear - by he's playing along. Maybe he served in a war. Maybe he owns a car wash.
Trudy
(42). The sommelier with a perfectly trained palette. One of the New York native and on the verge of having it all. She hasn't been late in 25 years.
Christian
(33), a native of Puerto Rico, the bus boy, an aspiring server and father of two little girls. Almost every photo on his phone is of them. He works more doubles than anyone else and complains a whole lot less. Spanish is his first language, English came second when he moved to New York.
BHGMC - aka Brooding Hypermasculine
Gay Male Character aka ”Biggums” (29), a native of Tennessee (but you'd never know it from his lack-of-accent). He's worked at Restaurant forever, and before Restaurant he worked at another restaurant. He
probably was an actor at one point, or a musician, but he hasn't done that in a while. His Grindr profile reads: aspirations unknown. He probably wants to sleep with you but he couldn't tell you why. He's really sexy.
DJ
ageless (but he's probably like 30?), lacks nativity and rejects your arcane concept of gender. This male-identifying, aspiring philosopher, wears what he wants and doesn't care about looks on the street. He wants you to see that he's writing but wouldn't want to tell you what. He's got big ideas but doesn't know how to see them through in his own life. He's the guy you think you want until you get to know him and realize he isn't the guy that he thinks that he is.
