Breakdown
Synopsis: Three tales of three very different couples, complete with catchy songs and set on board a mystical, timeless locomotive. We’ll meet Larry and Kim, a pair whose happy marriage is threatened once Larry announces his desire to have an affair….but only with Kim’s permission. Then there’s Jake and Karen, a team of political spin doctors who encounter a scandal which may be too hot even for them. And finally we have the highly successful business woman Marie, visited by Terry, who also happens to be the angel of Death. Terry’s plan to take Marie to the Great Hereafter is complicated, however, when he discovers he may have actually boarded the wrong train.
Here we discover life and death, love and heartbreak, ambition and despair as we journey forward, each to our own surprising and inevitable destination.
SEEKING:
Conductor
50’s, any ethnicity. Charismatic and captivating presence. Mystical and timeless with a twinkle in his eye and a story on his lips. He acts as a narrator and so much more. Vocal requirements: vocal versatility to sing a range of music including rock n roll, soft shoe, and a ballad.
Female
Plays 3 roles, ages late 30’s-early 50’s, any ethnicity. Housewife/Mother of 3, Political Spin Doctor, and High Powered Executive. Must have great comic timing and versatility. Smart, strong, witty. Vocal requirements: Sings in variety of vocal styles. Needs resonant low notes and the ability to sing both loudly and softly in the soprano mix register.
Male
Plays 3 roles ages late 30’s-early 50’s. Husband/Accountant, Political Spin Doctor, Angel of Death. Must have great comic timing and versatility. Darkly comedic, restless, bold. Vocal requirements: Sings in variety of vocal styles. Needs comfortable, resonant low notes with the ability to sing both loudly and softly in the upper baritone mix register.
