Breakdown

Synopsis:
New musical comedy that follows the incredible journey of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs as they blaze a path from “garage inventors” to warring titans of the computer revolution. Before Bill Gates and Steve Jobs were household names and billionaires, they were NERDS.

Seeking

Bill Gates:
Man, 20s-30s; the epitome of a nerd who eventually gains confidence and fame through his success; a ‘sex-starved genius’. Excellent comic skills, capable of portraying vulnerability as well. Tenor; must also be able to rap.

Steve Jobs:
Man, 20s-30s; extremely charismatic, attractive in a unique way. Sexy, smooth and confident with a quirky edge and great comic timing. Thinks he’s a rock star; rests on his laurels. Rock tenor.

Paul Allen:
Man, 20s-30s; Gates’ best friend and partner in crime; nerdy, intelligent, nervous. Could be a goofy physical type; excellent comic skills. Baritone.

Steve Wozniak:
Man, 20s-30s; aka “The Woz”; Jobs’ best friend and partner in crime; he can ‘see the future’ of computers and is the heart and soul of Team Apple; he and Jobs experiment with their computers in his Grandma’s garage. A character actor and great comedian (e.g. Jack Black). High Tenor.

Sally:
Woman, 20s-30s; intelligent, earnest, likable. An activist who wants to change the world. She is the love interest of both Jobs (with whom she readily flirts) and Gates (whose name she can’t seem to remember). Excellent comedian; strong singer with a high belt and strong mix voice.

Myrtle:
Woman, 20s-30s. Can be extremely nerdy in one moment and unbelievably sexy in the next moment; lovable; wears headgear (through which she can pick up radio stations) and longs to go to the Checkmating Dance with Bill Gates. Excellent comedian; strong singer with a belt/mix voice.

Watson:
Male, 40s-50s; conservative, classic; he has a dry and wicked sense of humor (e.g. Christopher Walken); he is the villain that we love to hate; manipulative and conniving. Excellent comic skills; baritenor; also plays some other characters.
