To play ages 18-65. 6 men to play cameo roles: Uncle Jocko, Pop, Kringelein, and Mr. Goldstone and 3 adult Farm Boys who must be able to dance.

Baby June
Age 7-10. Cute, blonde (can be wigged), high energy performer with a fantastic belt who is a strong dancer. Gymnastic skills & baton twirling a plus

Baby Louise
Age 8-12. Strong actor; awkward girl with hidden strength who lives in the shadow of her sister, Baby June. Brunette; fairly tall & can sing well.

Newsboys
4 boys who are 8-12 years old. All must sing & move well.

Female, 18-21, vocal range: G3 - E5. Diner waitress who dreams of life as a musician. Naturally shy girl, naive of the world around her. Becomes smitten with Birdlace; discovers a lot about her self respect & confidence along the way. Some knowledge of how to play basic guitar a plus but not required

BERNSTEIN
Male, 18-25, vocal range: B2 - B4. Marine private 1st class; Birdlace’s good friend. Bit nerdy; very inexperienced with opposite sex.

BOLAND
Male, 18-25, vocal range: B2 - B4. Marine private 1st class; Birdlace’s closest friend. The most vocal supporter of the dogfight & fairly crude in his behavior and language.

MARCY
Female, 25-35, vocal range: F#3 - Eb5. Boland’s date for the dogfight. A nearly toothless & homely prostitute. Crass & brash, but sneaky & cunning

LOUNGE SINGER
Male – 25-35, vocal range: B2 - B4. “Oily’ crooner & judge of the Dogfight.
