Breakdown
LILIANA
Female, Hispanic. Late 20s. Wife of a border magnate. She was born in Mexico to a proper but not affluent family; married up and has become a dyed blond hair, impeccably dressed, upper class border wife in large part to provide for her family back home. Used to being an object of desire – has the kind of charm that can’t be taught. Underneath all the bling and pomp, she’s a decent young woman with good intentions whose emotions can sometimes get the best of her and cloud her judgement.
MARITZA
Female, Hispanic. Late 20s. An attractive, sexually confident visual artist based in Chicago, with South Texas roots. Well respected as artist in her community, may even have some notoriety. She has a few tattoos she loves, some she regrets. Worldly, honest and direct. A woman who knows who she is and what she wants. She loves fiercely and is fiercely loyal, the kind of friend you want for life.
YUYA
Female, Hispanic. Late 30s – early 40s. YUYA raised LILIANA and now works for LILIANA in her new household. Passionate, headstrong, oftentimes manipulative, YUYA loves LILIANA as if she was her own and is fiercely loyal to her, though their relationship is a complicated one. Stealth and protective, almost always the smartest person in the room, though she knows her place and works to hide her resentments well.
FABIOLA
Female, Hispanic. Mid 20s. CAST. The only daughter to Alberto Cantu, LILIANA’s husband. Lives in Houston. Bratty and entitled, she has always had everything. Charismatic and cool, she wants for nothing. She’s been working on her degree for seven years, going on eight now and she’s so over it.
