Equity actors and actors who sing and play piano for 1 principal role available and for understudies.

Preparation
Please prepare a modern or contemporary American comedic monologue.
For actors who play, a piano will be provided for you to demonstrate a short selection showcasing your proficiency with the instrument.

Please bring a picture and resume stapled together.

ROBERT SAMSON:
25–35. A frustrated, aspiring novelist who is forced to ghost write to earn a living. Offbeat, handsome, and high-strung.

MALE UNDERSTUDY ONE:
50s – 60s to understudy roles of Vito De Angelis, Bruce and Eric (see descriptions below)

MALE UNDERSTUDY TWO:
25 – 35 to understudy role of Robert Samson.

MALE UNDERSTUDY THREE (TBD)
50 – 60. Would understudy the role of Vito De Angelis only.

FEMALE UNDERSTUY ONE:
40s – 50s to understudy role of Raquel de Angelis (see description below)

FEMALE UNDERSTUDY TWO:
25 – 35 to understudy the role of Iris Peabody (see description below)


UNAVAILABLE ROLES (for understudy description/info only):

RAQUEL DE ANGELIS: 45–55.One of the greatest opera singers on the planet, she couldn’t be more beguiling. When Raquel De Angelis enters a room, everyone in the room knows it. Must have legit soprano voice. Cast: Renée Fleming

VITO DE ANGELIS: 50–60. Raquel’s husband. One of the greatest conductors on the planet. His Italian accent is thick. His temper is legendary. He can fly off the handle at a moment's notice. Cast: TBA

IRIS PEABODY: 25–35. An intelligent and ambitious young career woman with a quirky appeal. She is an Assistant Junior Editor at Little Brown Publishing and is easily flustered in times of stress and pressure. Cast: TBA

BRUCE: 55 - 65. Former opera performer turned butler/servant. Part of a Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum pair with ERIC. They are their own act. Must sing and play piano. Cast: TBA
