Seeking
Equity actors for various roles.

There are 6 Male Leads, 6 Female Leads, plus numerous supporting roles and ensemble to be cast. Some actors will play more than one character.

Preparation
Prepare two brief song selections not to exceed 3 minutes total. An accompanist will be provided.

Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

NINA
To play18-25. Latina, Intelligent, book-smart. Starry-eyed, naïve; ready to conquer the world, but still trying to find her way. Great high belt voice

VANESSA
To play18-25. Latina. Great sense of humor, lively, vivacious personality, bright. Can be moody, easily frustrated; buries a lot of stress. Great High belt voice.

BENNY
To play early mid 20's. African American. Taxi stand employee/aspiring businessman. Looking to rise from his station in life. He is at home on any street in NY. Funny full of personality. Great singer with pop/hip-hop style.

SONNY
To play mid- late teens. Latino, completely streetwise. Part political genius, part goofball. Wants to play video games. Makes everyone want to laugh; you just want to pinch his checks. Good singer, tenor

KEVIN
To play 38-late 50's. Latino, Upstanding businessman; total wheeler-dealer in the most personable way. A lion slowed down by time and injury and over-working. Traditional in his beliefs. Wants desperately to remain the leader of his family. Must sing well.

CAMILLA
To play 40's. Latina, Strong, beautiful, wise helps everyone, asks for nothing and loves being active in the community. Traditionalist. Good singer.

ABUELA CLAUDIA
To play 60-70's. Latina, Ancient, beautiful, proud, tired. From another era, emigrated with her parents Working- class; scrubbed floors all her life. Must have a great belt voice.

CARLA
To play 20's. Latina, Loves to dance and get her hair done. Sweet and likeable. Good sense of comedy. Good singer: must be comfortable with some dance.

GRAFFITI PETE
To play late teens early 20's. Man, any ethnicity, Streetwise. Excellent hip-hop dancer; break-dancing skills preferred.

PIRAGUA GUY
To play 30's. Latino, Sells shaved ice in neighborhood. Good sense of humor. Great sense of pride. Tenor.
