BREAKDOWN

ICHABOD CRANE III - (Male, 25-30) Descendent of the original, infamous Ichabod Crane, he is curious, bright-eyed, a seeker of truth with a great big beating heart. His entire adult life, he has felt a burning desire to find out what really happened to his ancestor decades ago - as the original legend never seemed quite right and his family has been scorned by their legendary history since. Recently, he's been haunted by vivid nightmares - and a voice that has been calling him back to Sleepy Hollow. He is a struggling writer and romantic at heart, living in the tiniest Manhattan apartment. With fierce determination and a desire to uncover the truth behind the legend, Ichabod Crane III takes off for Sleepy Hollow with only a small suitcase and his typewriter - hell-bent on writing the Real Legend of Sleepy Hollow. What he doesn't realize is that the small broken town of Sleepy Hollow needs Ichabod Crane III far more than Ichabod Crane III needs Sleepy Hollow. PLEASE SUBMIT ALL ETHNICITES. MUST HAVE STRONG CONTEMPORARY POP/ROCK SINGING VOICE. [BARITONE, C3-G4]

HEADLESS - (Male 30-45) A soldier who lost the love of his life many years ago - he is now stuck in the afterlife. Forever haunting the little town of Sleepy Hollow, he is determined to be reunited with the love of his life once again. Is he the voice that has been calling Ichabod Crane III to the Hollow? You see, Headless believes that if he can exact revenge on a Crane family member for what happened all those years ago, then perhaps he will finally be reunited with his long lost love in the afterlife. Dark, tall, and brooding - he is the ultimate gothic romantic ghostly lead. ALL ETHNICITES. MUST HAVE STRONG CONTEMPORARY POP/ROCK SINGING VOICE. [TENOR, C3-C5]

THE WOMAN IN WHITE - (Female or Male, 25-45) The long lost love of Headless, she now resides in the old abandoned church on the outskirts of town, desperately searching for her long lost love in the afterlife. When they fell for each other, their love was shunned by the townspeople all of those years ago because no one understood why a soldier would fall in love with a woman who was so very different from the rest. So Headless moved them to a small farmhouse on the outskirts of Sleepy Hollow, where he could protect her - and their love. But ultimately, their idyllic romance met a tragic end and they were separated in death. Open casting for this character - we are specifically interested in diverse as well as transgender, androgynous, or gender neutral actors. ALL ETHNICITES. MUST HAVE STRONG CONTEMPORARY POP/ROCK SINGING VOICE. [SOPRANO/FLEXIBLE, F3-A6]

MAYOR VAN TASSEL - (Male, 40ish) Katrina's father and the Mayor of Sleepy Hollow, he's been Mayor for many, many years now. He’s made sure that there are never any other options for the citizens of Sleepy Hollow to vote for by using the original legend to keep everyone living in fear. And as we all know, fear is the ultimate device to control people. With full rule over his dark little town, he is immediately threatened by Ichabod Crane III’s arrival and his search for the truth behind the legend. Mayor Van Tassel will stop at nothing to send this young boy packing, straight out of Sleepy Hollow and back to the big city where he belongs. ALL ETHNICITES. MUST HAVE STRONG CONTEMPORARY POP/ROCK SINGING VOICE. [BARITONE, C3-G4]

BROM - (Male, 25-30) Tall, dark, handsome, and slightly gullible. He is Mayor Van Tassel's right hand man and Katrina's fiancé. His plan for himself includes a wife and kids and to one day take over for the Mayor. But when Ichabod Crane III comes to town and threatens that plan, Brom sees red. There is a little hope for Brom, however - when the truth is finally revealed, he confronts the Mayor and questions his authority. What have they done all these years? By keeping the truth hidden, by using fear to keep everyone in line, what kind of legends are they creating? ALL ETHNICITES. MUST HAVE STRONG CONTEMPORARY POP/ROCK SINGING VOICE. [TENOR, Bb2-B4]

LIZ - (Female, 21-30) Liz is Katrina's best friend. She's a believer in Mayor Van Tassel and only wants what's best for Katrina. But when Katrina starts to stray from the path, Liz is determined to get her back onboard. That is, until the truth is finally revealed to all. Liz comes around to support her best friend in the end. She is strong and feisty, but traditional and loyal. ALL ETHNICITES. MUST HAVE STRONG CONTEMPORARY POP/ROCK SINGING VOICE. [SOPRANO, B3-E5]
