SEEKING:
[ACTOR 1]
MAX: WORLD BUILDERS. Male, age 30’s-40, all ethnicities. MAX is a patient in a clinical drug trial for a medication treating the symptoms of schizoid personality disorder. He is withdrawn and depressed, has a schizoid personality disorder. You probably would suspect it. He has vivid fantasies and embraces his fantasy world. He is a quiet and intense man—full of pain—average looks—but appealing.

WHITNEY: WORLD BUILDERS. Female, age 30’s-40, all ethnicities. WHITNEY is a patient in a clinical drug trial for medication treating the symptoms of schizoid personality disorder. She is an upbeat and quirky woman—average or unusual looks. She is friendly and extremely imaginative, inventive and funny.

VICTOR: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH. Male, age 30’s-40’s, all ethnicities. VICTOR is a 1970’s fashion designer who is a seemingly arrogant, passionate artist with secret, terrible insecurities, painfully skinny, brilliant, caustic, and can be vicious. He is also sexy, seductive, charming, funny and narcissistic. He has more passion, compassion and heart than might be immediately apparent from his cutting wit.

JESS: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH this role could also rep with KATE: ON CLOVER ROAD. JESS: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH. Female, age 30’s. Jess is overweight (by Hollywood definition); she is a computer programmer, smart, ironic, terribly self-deprecating, self-destructive in her choice of men, charming and flawed. She is a funny, vulnerable woman with a genius streak who is actually sexy. She yearns for a family connection. KATE: ON CLOVER ROAD: Age mid 30’s-40’s. Kate is strong and powerful…a fighter who can be fierce and avid, but with real emotional vulnerability beneath. She holds the center of the play. The plays job is to break her—and the play wins—but not without a fight from her. She is a mother trying to reunite with her runaway daughter.

BETH/PAULA: THE FULL CATASTROPHE reps with KATE: ON CLOVER ROAD. BETH/PAULA: THE FULL CATASTROPHE: Female, age mid 30’s. BETH AND PAULA is played by the same actor. BETH is married to Dan and is trying to save her marriage. PAULA is Jeremy’s former girlfriend. BETH is edgy, sexy, attractive, and humorous with a definite “nurturing” side. Think of BETH as PAULA grown up, with her motherly side enhanced, and PAULA as BETH as a young woman, free thinking and up for fun. She is a chameleon actor with lots of pop. KATE: ON CLOVER ROAD: Age mid 30’s-40’s. Kate is strong and powerful—a fighter who can be fierce and avid—but with real emotional; vulnerability beneath. She holds the center of the play. STINE: ON CLOVER ROAD and reps with ROY PILLOW: THE FULL CATASTROPHE. STINE: ON CLOVER ROAD: Male, age late 40’s-60’s. He is a private detective/interrogator. He is hard-boiled, tough, street smart. He is powerful and controlling—exudes some true officiousness that can border on menace—it’s good if we spend much of the play thinking he’s the bad guy, a real prick—has to break our heart later when we realize that he is still grieving his daughter’s loss. He is in a revenge play. ROY PILLOW: THE FULL CATASTROPHE: Male, age 50’s-60’s. ROY is the wealthy CEO of the Pillow Agency. His humor is understated, wry. He projects a creepy authority and an eccentricity under corporate polish.

HARRIS McLAIN: ON CLOVER ROAD reps with JEREMY COOK: THE FULL CATASTROPHE. HARRIS McLAIN: ON CLOVER ROAD: Male, age 40’s. HARRIS is a charismatic leader of a religious cult. He is handsome, charming, persuasive and intense. He doesn’t read as the bad guy till he starts behaving like a monster—and when this happens, we see the danger inside the velvet exterior. He is in an extortion play. JEREMY COOK: THE FULL CATASTROPHE: Male, late 30’s-40’s. JEREMY is brainy, witty, incisive, but capable of being suddenly vulnerable and lost. He should project a person capable of action, but happens to be stuck for the moment at an impasse in his life. He projects an edge of a troubled soul, and he has a good sense of humor. This is a man you’d love to have as your popular professor in college.

NADYA: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT reps with ESME: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH. NADYA: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT: Female, age early 20’s. NADYA is a statuesque, self-contained contemporary artist. She is a philosophy student, feminist and provocateur…sometimes disdainful of others and full of herself. The role requires movement and high energy and a Russian accent. ESME: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH: ESME: Female, age 20’s-30’s. Esme is Victor’s muse, beautiful, a denizen of the fashion world, a former model who has her own inspired design ideas. She is extremely sexy and dangerous. In the later time frame (aging into her 40’s-50’s) she is bitter and ordinary.

MASHA: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT reps with MODEL/ENSEMBLE: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH. Masha: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT: Female, age 20’s. MASHA is a free spirit, playful environmentalist and activist caught up in the Pussy Riot action. As a prisoner, she teaches herself law and defends herself better than her lawyers do. The role requires movement and high energy and a Russian accent. MODEL/ENSEMBLE: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH: Female age 20’s She plays a variety of characters including a runway model. She is beautiful. KATYA: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT reps with MODEL/ENSEMBLE: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH. KATYA: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT: Female, age late 20’s. KATYA is quiet and serious with a warm glow and gentleness and shyness…as well as tomboy toughness. She is straightforward and dedicated to changing the system she grew up in through radical activism. The role requires movement and high energy and a Russian accent. MODEL/ENSEMBLE: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH: Female, age 20’s. She plays a variety of characters including a runway model. She is beautiful. SERGEI: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT. SERGEY: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT: Male, age 50’s. SERGEI is a very intelligent, self-deprecating, very kind professor who has run afoul of the Putin regime. He has a wide-ranging knowledge of human history and a heart big enough to forgive us for it. He is stubborn and somehow full of hope, for his country and humanity. The actor will play multiple roles. A Russian accent is necessary.

DAN WILSON: THE FULL CATASTROPHE reps with MALE/ENSEMBLE: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT. DAN WILSON: THE FULL CATASTROPHE: DAN is Beth’s husband. He works in the family business, printing maps. But he really wants to be a teacher. He is rugged, laid back, wry, and easy going…the guy who breaks up a bar fight by talking to the brawlers…and they listen. He is trying to save his marriage. MALE/ENSEMBLE: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT: Age 40’s to play multiple roles: Vladimir Putin, Patriarch Krill, the Prosecutor, a Cossack, etc…a Russian accent is necessary.

LEWIS: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH reps with MALE/ENSEMBLE: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT. LEWIS: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH: Male, age 35. LEWIS is a scruffy, cute, computer geek and Jess’s co-worker; has real nerd cred; in love with Jess. He is honest, sincere with no game except his own disarming sense of truth and what’s important. MALE/ENSEMBLE: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT: Age 30’s. To play a variety of characters: a Defense Attorney, Reporter, Prison Guard, a Cossack, and a Thug. The role requires: Russian, French, British and American dialects, and Russian folk dance skills.

LOUELLA: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH reps with FEMALE/ENSEMBLE: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT. LOUELLA: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH: Female, age 30’s-40’s. She is a perfectly average woman from the Midwest. She has a real common sense and pragmatic, grounded approach to life. She inspires Victor to fall in love with her as his next muse. She has a strong sense of humor and a strong sense of justice. She is plain looking but attractive. FEMALE/ENSEMBLE: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT: Age 40 to play multiple roles from serious investigative journalist to femme fatale to bureaucrat: the Judge, a prisoner, Madonna, Anna Karenina, Anna Akhmatova and Anna Politkovskaya. Russian, American and British dialects are necessary.

JESSIE: ON CLOVER ROAD reps with MODEL/ENSEMBLE: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH. JESSIE: ON CLOVER ROAD: A girl, plays 17. She is a teenage runaway. Some similarity in size and build with Angela is helpful. This role requires a very centered young woman with charisma and poise and an almost profound emotional open-ness. She is in a transcendence play. MODEL/ENSEMBLE: EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH: Age 20. She plays a variety of characters including a runway model. She is beautiful. This ensemble role is highly physical and requires excellent movement skills and the ability to change characters. She should have comparable acting chops to Kate. She is fierce but can be darkly funny. She is comfortable with playing someone at their absolute emotional edge. She is in a revenge play. ROBBIE WILSON: THE FULL CATASTROPHE: ROBBIE WILSON: Male, age 12. He is boy who is smart, curious, and a little dreamy. He zigzags between sociable, and preoccupied. He is worried about his parents splitting up.

E.E. EVERYONE ELSE: THE FULL CATASTROPHE: Male, 30’s-40’s. E.E. is a comic chameleon. Prefer a sketch comedy actor who can be hilarious with a straight face. Looking for an imaginative, inventive actor who makes strong physical choices. He must have the ability to change characters and gender in a flash. Reps with MALE/ENSEMBLE: WE ARE PUSSY RIOT. Male Ensemble: Male, age 40’s to play multiple roles: Vladimir Putin, Patriarch Krill, the Prosecuter, a Cossack, etc…A Russian accent is necessary.
