SEEKING
OYL is seeking to expand its existing ensemble of actors for a new production inspired by the 1973 'Battle of the Sexes' tennis match. The production entitled BALLS is being co-written by Kevin Armento and Bryony Lavery for OYL. We are building a broadly diverse cast with respect to age, ethnicity and those whom are differently-abled. Actors at the extremes of the age spectrum, actors of all racial and ethnic backgrounds and differently-abled actors strongly encouraged to apply. We are a physical theater company emphasizing movement, and in this production we are exploring what that means in all body types and abilities.
OYL is a highly physical company that develops and premieres new works of theater. Roles are typically demanding physically and involve extensive movement choreography. We work as an ensemble and actors play lead roles as well as members of a chorus. Must work well in a collaborative/generative environment.
PREPARATION
The audition will involve a group movement call that integrates sides/text which will be provided at the audition. Individuals with any movement restrictions will be encouraged to attempt a version that suits their abilities.
