SEEKING
Equity actors of all ethnicities and ages. All actors will be expected to appear in at least two of three summer rep shows, either two Shakespeare production or one Shakespeare and one musical production, so comfort in both arenas is preferred. See breakdown.
PREPARATION
Either: Two contrasting Shakespeare monologues OR One Shakespeare monologue plus 16 bars of a song to be considered for THE MUSIC MAN. If singing, bring sheet music; accompanist provided. Total audition time no more than 2 minutes. Bring picture and resume.

Berowne
Male, 20s-30s. Young lord with a great facility for words and wordplay, funny and romantic.
Princess
Female, 20s-30s. A young ruler who enjoys playing games, but also is capable of great power and leadership.
Holofernes
Male, 40s-60s. A schoolmaster, comically in love with himself and his vast knowledge of English and Latin.
Don Armado
Male, 30s-50s. A Spanish knight and braggert, based on Commedia stock character

Male, 20s-40s. Vocal Range: Ab2-F4. Charismatic and charming con-man with a silver tongue.
Marian Paroo
Female, 20s-30s. Vocal Range: G3-A5Town music teacher, librarian, and spinster. Suspicious of Hill, but eventually falls in love with him.
Mrs. Paroo
Female, 40s-60s. Vocal Range: Ab3-Eb5. Marian's somewhat meddling mother. Always cheerful and up for a laugh. Speaks with an Irish accent.
Mayor Shinn
Male. 40s-60s. Town mayor and self-important politician.

Julius Caesar
Male, 50s. Famous leader of Rome. A warrior and a statesman.
Brutus
Male, 30s-40s. Roman statesman. Noble and idealistic.
Mark Antony
30s-40s. Roman general and right hand man to Caesar. Charismatic, and an excellent orator.
Cassius
Male or Female, 30s-40s. Roman Senator and leading instigator in the plot to assassinate Caesar. Described as having a lean and hungry look.
Portia
Female, 20s-30s. Wife of Brutus. Intelligent counterpart and confidante to her husband.
