Breakdown

ULYSSES
Male, mid fifties. A grizzled man who in a past life would’ve been a Western cowboy-poet and professor of English. He is a rebel, mischief-maker, sharp, quick-tounged and a poet thru his rough exterior. He has been living contentedly alone in the squalor of his trailer for quite some time and is dying of cancer.

EMMA
Female, mid fifties. She is an urban, fierce, New Englander. She is a fighter who shows very little sentiment. She uses humor as an armor against her wounds. Those wounds begin to open up when she reconnects with her husband. Ulysses is the only time that she has let her feelings get in the way of her self-conviction.
