Preparation
Singer Call - Prepare an old Broadway song in the style of the show, nothing contemporary. You may sing from the show. Please bring sheet music in the correct key and an accompanist will be provided. Non singing roles must attend the singer call and bring a short character-y song.

Breakdown

All those auditioning must be 18 years of age or older. We will consider AEA contracts for the roles of Peggy Sawyer, Julian Marsh, Dorothy Brock, Billy Lawlor, Maggie Jones and Bert Barry.

Please note: You must attend one of the calls in San Diego to be considered. No video or out of state submissions accepted at this time.

Peggy Sawyer: (Lead) the All-American, genuinely talented girl, innocent, hopeful, spirited; a triple threat: she acts, she sings, and must be a spectacular tapper. Mezzo/belt. Female, ages 18-29, All Ethnicities

Julian Marsh: (Lead) a powerful and charismatic actor to play a successful Broadway director; baritone, up to an Ab. Male, ages 40-59, All Ethnicities

Dorothy Brock: (Lead) a genuine Broadway Star with a capital S; very elegant; must move well and possess a strong sense of comic timing; low alto to low Eb. Female, ages 40-49, All Ethnicities

Anytime Annie: (Supporting) the archetypal chorus girl; knows the ropes and is no fool; must have strong belt and great tap skills. Female, ages 18-29, All Ethnicities

Billy Lawlor: (Lead) the classic juvenile; handsome, charming; spectacular tapper and legit, soaring tenor. Male, ages 18-35, All Ethnicities

Andy Lee: (Supporting) the dance director; must be a strong actor and superb tapper. Male or Female, ages 26-40, All Ethnicities

Maggie Jones: (Supporting) half of the writing duo; must sing and move well and be able to play comedy with great warmth and charm; character alto. Female, ages 30-49, All Ethnicities

Bert Barry: (Supporting) half of the writing duo; must sing and move well and be able to play comedy with vaudeville timing; character baritone. Male, ages 30-49, All Ethnicities

Abner Dillion: (Supporting) character role; the stars sugar daddy from Oklahoma; a bit of a potential thug/bully; ability to sing a help but not necessary. Male, ages 30-55, All Ethnicities

Pat Denning: (Supporting) a handsome vaudeville performer down on his luck; Dorothy Brock's true love; baritone. Male, ages 40-59, All Ethnicities

Male and Female Chorus: attractive singers and dancers who are superb tappers and sing well; must be trim and in good physical shape; some will play featured (speaking and non/dancing roles) in the ensemble. Males & Females, ages 18- 55, All Ethnicities
