The Williamston Theatre, mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company located at 122 S. Putnam Street in downtown Williamston, will present a staged reading of the classic A.R. Gurney play Love Letters tonight, July 28 at 7pm. The reading will feature John Lepard and Emily Sutton-Smith and will be directed by Williamston Theatre's Artistic Director, Tony Caselli.

The piece is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people, sometime lovers, who grow up together, go their separate ways, and continue to share confidences. As the actors read the letters aloud, what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny, but always telling, pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down. Mr. Lepard and Ms. Sutton-Smith are married and have a young son together. This is the first time they will be on stage together since 2004.

John Lepard is the Executive Director and one of the co-founders of the Williamston Theatre. He has been acting professionally for 19 years. His credits range from film and television in Los Angeles, to live theatre off-Broadway. He is a member of the Actors' Equity Association and the Screen Actors' Guild. John received his BA in Theatre from Michigan State University and his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. John is an adjunct professor at Lansing Community College, and a guest professor at Michigan State University, where he also directs

Emily Sutton-Smith is the Williamston Theatre's Development Director and also one of the co-founders. She is a professional actress and member of Actors' Equity Association and SAG/AFTRA. She has appeared on the Williamston Theatre stage in End Days, The Usual: A Musical Love Story, The Smell of the Kill, The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-In-The-Moon Marigolds (2009 Lansing State Journal Best Actress Thespie Award), Maidens, Mothers and Crones and Additional Particulars.
