Wild Swan Theater, Ann Arbor's award winning professional theater for families, has received a grant from Toyota for its Igniting Creativity Toyota Scholarship program. Funds will be used to provide expanded opportunities for a broad spectrum of students to experience the nourishing and transforming power of the performing arts. Wild Swan Theater is renowned for igniting an early passion for the arts, as we are often a child's first introduction to the performing arts. During the grant period, Wild Swan Theater will present the following productions at its home stage of Towsley Auditorium at Washtenaw Community College.

  • Drum Me a Story February 9-11, 2017

A delightful collection of African tales performed through storytelling, acting, dancing, and drumming.

  • Rosie the Riveter March 9 - 11, 2017

This original musical tells the remarkable story of the women who came to Michigan to fill thousands of factory jobs left empty by men suddenly called to war.

  • Jack and the Beanstalk March 23 - 25, 2017

This lively rendition of a classic tale presents a humorous giant, appropriate for young theatergoers.

  • Marketplace Stories - Folktales from the Arab World (World Premiere) May 4 - 6, 2017

This production developed in collaboration with the Arab American National Museum brings the vibrant Arab world to life through timeless stories and music.
