Two Original Comedies Debut This Month At Go Comedy!

Detroit's jerks and sketch comedy take the stage this fall at Go Comedy! Improv Theater when the original comedies Jerks and iMerica - Brand That I Love debut this month. Both shows join the theater's Thursday night schedule in September. iMerica - Brand That I Love is Go Comedy!'s 21st Original Comedy, hot off the heels of "Ferndale 248" and "RoGoCop the Musical" comes another hilarious sketch comedy show. iMerica takes a look at the relationships we have with others both live and through the technology we can't live without. While playfully poking fun at everything from Apple Inc. to Superman to Andrew Jackson and back no one gets off easy. Written by and Starring Lauren Bickers (Ferndale), Chris DiAngelo (Ferndale), Suzie Jacokes (Ferndale), Genevieve Jona (Detroit), Chris Petersen (Ann Arbor) and Andrew Seiler (Roseville). Directed by Tommy LeRoy (Ferndale). Stage Managed by Peter Jacokes (Ferndale). iMerica - Brand That I Love plays Thursday and Friday evenings at 8pm September 15 - November 4. Tickets are $15.

Jerks is a one-act one-man show written by and starring Ryan Parmenter (Plymouth)and directed by Pj Jacokes (Ferndale). Four different vignettes of likable jerks are woven together with help from Ryan's cartoon alter ego. Jerks features: Mike Shirt, an unemployed, 'alleged' thief representing himself in court; High Lord Jeff, the questionable leader of a questionable cult; General Knotts, A US Army General preparing to defend a 1980's America from it's biggest threat; and Guff Guyman, the last living member of The Rat Pack. Jerks appears Thursday evenings at 9:30pm September 15 - 29. Tickets are $5.
