The Williamston Theatre Is Gearing Up For A Trip To Tuna, Texas With GREATER TUNA

Mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company, Williamston Theatre, located at 122 S. Putnam in downtown Williamston, invites you to take a trip to Tuna, Texas in the second production of their 2010-2011 Season, Greater Tuna. Tickets for this hilarious love-letter to small town mores, qualities and quirks by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard are now on sale.

Greater Tuna begins with five Preview performances starting Thursday, November 11. During the first four Previews audience members will have the opportunity to take part in the process of creating a show by participating in a talkback session with the director following each performance. The Official Opening Night is Friday, November 19 with the show scheduled to run through Sunday, December 19. Performances will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at eight o'clock and Sunday matinees at two o'clock with additional three o'clock matinees on Saturdays starting November 20. There will also be a three o'clock matinee on Friday, November 26. Please note there will be no performance on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 25.

This long running off-Broadway hit takes you through a typical day in the life of Tuna where the Lion's Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. Arles Struvie, Thurston Wheelis, Aunt Pearl, Petey Fisk, Phineas Blye and Rev. Spikes are just some of the upstanding citizens of the third smallest town in Texas you'll meet in Greater Tuna. Just two actors create the entire population of Tuna in this hilarious tour de force of quick-change artistry.

The cast consists of Aral Gribble (An Infinite Ache, Every Christmas Story Ever Told!!) and Wayne David Parker (It Came From Mars, Talley's Folly). Tony Caselli is the Director for Greater Tuna. The rest of the production team includes set design by Donald Robert Fox, lighting design by Daniel C. Walker (Home, It Came From Mars), costume design by Karen Kangas-Preston (The Smell of the Kill) and prop design by Erin Roth (Home). The Stage Manager is Stefanie Din.

Tickets are Pay-What-You-Can for Thursday, November 11. Remaining Preview tickets are $15.00! Starting Opening Night, tickets prices are $24.00 for Friday and Saturday evenings, $20.00 for all matinees and $18.00 for Thursday evenings. Williamston Theatre patrons will find ample parking on the street and in several municipal lots throughout the city. The theatre is located in downtown Williamston (exit 117 off of I-96) just south of Grand River Avenue.
