SOUL 70'S SUPER JAM Plays The Fox Theatre 4/3

The Soul 70's Super Jam starring the O'Jays and special guests Stephanie Mills, The Stylistics and The Jones Girls will take to the stage at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, April 3 at 8:00 p.m.

The O'Jays were one of Philadelphia soul's most popular and long-lived groups who's recordings epitomized the Philly sound: smooth, rich harmonies backed by elaborate arrangements and a touch of contemporary funk. The group has produced more than 30 chart singles plus a series of best-selling albums. Hit singles include "Love Train," "For the Love of Money," "Let Me Make Love to You," "Give People What They Want" and "Lovin' You".

Stephanie Mills first came to fame as "the little girl with the big voice" as the star of the hit Broadway play, The Wiz, an adaptation of L. Frank Baum's classic book, The Wizard Of Oz. She has many R&B hits such as "I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love," "(You're Puttin') A Rush On Me," "Something in the Way (You Make Me Feel)," "Home" and "Never Knew Love Like This Before."

The Stylistics debut single "You're a Big Girl Now" brought the group to fame. Their follow-up album The Stylistics released an unheard six hit singles in total including "Stop, Look, Listen to Your Heart," You Are Everything" and "Betcha By Golly Wow". Herbert Murrell and Airrion Love are the remaining original members of The Stylistics.

The Jones Girls, originally from Detroit, came to fame after working with Diana Ross on a U.S. tour. Mentionable singles include "You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else," "Life Goes On" and "Nights Over Egypt".
