Ridgedale Players opens its 2015-2016 season with the classic drama ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST by Dale Wasserman, based on the novel by Ken Kesey. Performances run September 11th through September 27th.

ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST follows Randle McMurphy, a boisterous, charming, life-affirming rogue who contrives to serve a short sentence in a mental institution rather than in jail. Once there, he clashes with the head nurse, and manages to accomplish what the medical profession had failed to do, leading many of the other patients out of introversion. McMurphy stages numerous revolts against the head nurse, and his defiance, which starts as sport, quickly develops into a grim power struggle with the institution.

Not only has ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST been called "scarifying and powerful" by the NY Times and "one of the finest, most meaningful and most moving play of recent times" by WPIX TV, but it was also the winner of 2001's Tony Award for Outstanding Revival of a Play as well as the winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Revival. Ridgedale's production of this captivating and exciting production is directed by Chris Polhill and assistant directed by Shaun Pittman, and consists of a talented ensemble cast including: Scott Welborn, Laurie Jerrell Dooley, Aaron Filipski, David Klecha, Andrew McMechan, Stephen Cavanagh, John Tonkovich, Carla Perrotta Ferri, Kevin Feber, Devin McPherson, Don Drife, Camy Sylvestre, Kaitlin Steer, Andy Maxwell, and Herb Barents.

Tickets for ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST are $17 for adults, $15 for seniors. The show is general admission and tickets will be available at the door. Curtain will open at 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2pm on Sundays. ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST features adult language and themes, and is not suitable for all audiences.
