Purple Rose Theatre Offers Advanced Audition Intensive and Actor Boot Camp, Jan-Feb 2013

The Purple Rose Theatre Company will offer two acting classes in January and February 2013.

Experienced acting students seeking to refine their audition skills can enroll in the Advanced Audition Intensive. This 5-week course meets on Mondays from 6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., January 21 - February 18, 2013. Students will focus on audition techniques, including intensive, individualized work on monologues, cold readings, mock-auditions and film and commercial audition techniques. Each student will leave with three audition-ready contrasting monologues. The Advanced Audition Intensive is taught by artistic director Guy Sanville and resident artist Michelle Mountain, and costs $400. The Advanced Audition Intensive will be held at The Purple Rose Theatre Company, 137 Park Street, Chelsea, Michigan 48118.

Actors of all experience levels are encouraged to enroll in the PRTC's annual Actor Boot Camp. This weekend intensive is one of the theatre's most popular classes, focusing on practical techniques and principles to guide actors in their work. The 3-day Actor Boot Camp will take place Friday, February 15 from 7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.; Saturday, February 16 from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (lunch provided); and Sunday, February 17 from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The class fee is $250. Artistic director Guy Sanville and resident artist Michelle Mountain will teach the workshop. The Actor Boot Camp will be held at the PRTC rehearsal hall in the Chelsea Center for the Arts, 400 Congdon Street, Chelsea, Michigan 48118.
