Norah Jones will make TV appearances this week in support of her critically acclaimed new album Day Breaks, an affecting work of deep beauty for our turbulent times. Norah will perform her gorgeous cover of the Horace Silver song "Peace" tonight on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Tomorrow morning Norah will be performing "Carry On"-which Newsday called "a balm for the soul"-on LIVE with Kelly. In a live review earlier this year the Boston Globe wrote "Norah Jones has a way of being there when you need her... a warm, honeyed voice, right up against your ear, AutoTune-free and honest."

Rolling Stone recently named Day Breaks one of the "Best Albums of 2016," writing that it "feels like an ozone-charged pause before a virulent cloudburst... her voice has become more nuanced without losing an iota of cool." Jon Pareles of The New York Times also named "Flipside" to his list of the "Best Songs of 2016."

Day Breaks is a remarkable new album that finds Norah returning to the piano and her jazz roots while also proving her to be this era's quintessential American artist, the purveyor of an unmistakably unique sound that weaves together the threads of several bedrock styles of American music: country, folk, rock, soul, jazz. Day Breaks is a kindred spirit to Come Away With Me, though it is unquestionably the work of a mature artist who has lived life and grown immensely in her craft. The album features jazz luminaries including her Blue Note label mates saxophonist Wayne Shorter, organist Dr. Lonnie Smith, and drummer Brian Blade on a 12-song set that presents 9 new originals alongside covers of songs by Horace Silver, Duke Ellington and Neil Young.
