Matrix Theatre Company, celebrating 26 years as a socially-engaged professional and educational theatre in Southwest Detroit is hosting "Many Voices, One Detroit," an exciting Detroit-themed event fundraiser on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 6 PM at the Detroit Historical Museum.

Tickets to the event are $100 for Patron Tickets and $167 for Champion Tickets. They can be purchased by calling Matrix Theatre Company at (313) 967-0999 ext. 7 or by visiting www.matrixtheatre.org. RSVP deadline is June 5, 2017.

"Many Voices, One Detroit" features a strolling dinner reception with Detroit-themed food stations, a silent auction, and a live presentation featuring a keynote speech by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Stephen Henderson. Scenes from Dream Deferred: Detroit, 1967, Matrix's upcoming, eagerly-anticipated original production will also be featured. The play is based on Dr. Xavier Nicholas' extraordinary audio interviews conducted in the aftermath of the uprising 50 years ago. Complimentary admission to museum exhibitions, featuring access to the Detroit 67: Perspectives exhibit not yet open to the public, and parking are included with each Patron and Champion ticket.

Each Champion Ticket also includes two tickets to a private performance of Matrix's world premiere production, Dream Deferred: Detroit, 1967. Each private performance includes a talk-back with actors and director and a wine and cheese reception. For more information on these benefits, contact Matrix Theatre Company at (313) 967-0999 ext. 7.

"Many Voices, One Detroit" is generously sponsored by MGM Grand Detroit; Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer & Weiss; Dr. Joseph B. and Lynn Stevens Naoum; and O'Brien Construction Company.

Celebrating more than 25 years as a non-profit, community-based theatre, Matrix Theatre Company is located in southwest Detroit and uses the transformative power of theatre to change lives, build community and foster social justice. Go to matrixtheatre.org for further information.
