Matrix Theatre Company announces its newest semester of spring classes, "Giving Voice to Our Dreams," for youth ages 5-14. Classes begin April 25 and run through June 6 on Tuesdays from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. For further information, visit www.matrixtheatre.org.

In conjunction with Matrix's Mainstage production, Dream Deferred: Detroit, 1967, young artists in these classes will create a one-night performance that explores the dreams they have for their great city. Students will have the opportunity to contribute a poem, scene, or dance that shares their dreams, and how their voice will make a difference in their world. Our highly-trained teaching artists will work with each class to produce a culminating performance for family and friends.

"This season we are opening our doors for children in Metro Detroit to bring their vision of a New Detroit to life," said Colleen Cartwright, Matrix's Director of Education. "Students will search deep within themselves to seek what it means to dream, and to visualize what it takes to make those dreams a reality. No dream should be deferred, and anyone, at any age, can make their dreams possible."

Classes for youth ages 5-7 and 11-14 will be held at Matrix Theatre Company, located 2730 Bagley Street, Detroit, MI, 48216. Classes for youth ages 8-11 will meet at Repair the World, located directly across the street from Matrix Theatre Company.

Discounts and financial assistance are available. For more information, see the class description below.
