Conflict resolution is at the center of Matrix School of Theatre's spring show, The Art Project. Written by Gabrielle Clayton and directed by Emilio Rodriguez, the story focuses on what takes place as five young students who don't get along, are forced to work together on an art project. Performances run Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30 at 7 pm, and Sunday, May 31 at 3 pm.

All performances are at Matrix Theatre located at 2730 Bagley St. in southwest Detroit's Mexicantown. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.

Liz, Harper, Joey, Miguel, and Jessica are NOT the best of friends! When their teacher assigns them to work on a community art project together, they are forced to find a way to overcome their differences. Can they put aside their conflicts, or will this project fall apart? Follow these young students as they explore ways to come together, listen to each other, and experience how art helps bind us all together.

The Art Project's author Gabrielle Clayton submitted her play to the 2015 Young Playwrights Festival at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center in Connecticut. Out of 148 submissions, her play advanced to the Semi-Final Round.
