IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE Opens Holiday Season at Karl's Cabin Nov 22

Spotlight Players is pleased to present "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play," inspired by the classic holiday film of the same name. This production is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. The small group of seasoned actors plays dozens of characters in the radio play and produces the sound effects. The time is Christmas Eve 1946 at Studio A at WBFR in Manhattan, New York.

"I was immediately on board when Laure Kitzman and Justine Maldonado of Spotlight Players asked me to help get this project mounted," said producer John Sartor. "Having been in the musical version of the play twice, I can see how this approach to Joe Landry's interpretation of this nostalgic classic adds another level to the theatrical experience for patrons as well as actors. The style is unique as you watch the actors playing the roles of the voice-over person and the other roles of different ages, so it becomes multi-layered and quite awesome to experience."

The event will take place at Karl's Cabin in Plymouth, Michigan, with dinner seating beginning at 6:30 pm and an 8:15 start time for the 45-minute production.

The Spotlight Players will also offer holiday entertainment throughout the dining experience in order to set the mood of this fabulous play.

The small cast includes Leo Babcock, April Denny, Robert Doyle, Joe Arcel, Don Barrow, Tracey Bowen, and Jeff Hollon. The production is directed by Justine Maldonado and produced by John Sartor.

This event is perfectly timed to welcome the holiday season, and Spotlight Players is looking forward to sharing it with everyone.
