Go Comedy! Sets Holiday Shows

Go Comedy! is celebrating the holiday season with two holiday themed shows and special performances. After celebrating its seventh anniversary, the award winning improv theatre opened Santa's Twerkshop - it's seventh annual holiday revue and has announced its full schedule of holiday performances. Tickets for all Go Comedy! shows ($7-$20) are available now online at www.gocomedy.net and beginning at 6:00pm Wednesday - Sunday in person at the Go Comedy! box office. Santa's Twerkshop
For the seventh time, Go Comedy! will present an original holiday revue that takes a comedic look at everything we love and hate about the holidays. From family dinners to holiday songs, Go Comedy! brings its award-winning sketch comedy to the stage for another holiday season. Santa's Twerkshop features Chris DiAngelo, Suzie Jacokes, Tim Kay, Tom Novik, Maggie O'Reilly, and Dez Walker. It is written by the cast with Pj Jacokes and Peter Jacokes and directed by Tommy LeRoy with performances at 8:00 PM Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings now through December 19. Tickets are $20.

Naughty & Nice
With six years of holiday shows written and performed at Co Comedy!, there's more than a show's worth of favorite scenes. So Go Comedy! has put together the best of the best scenes from past years. Naughty & Nice: The Best of Go Comedy's Holiday Shows features Rj Cach, Chris Fortin, Annie Hendricks, Shevani Desai Ignasinski, Jess Loria & Jeff Smyk and is directed by Pj Jacokes. Performances are December 2, 9, and 26 at 8:00 PM and December 13 and 20 at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $15.

New Year's Eve at Go Comedy!
Go Comedy! will pull out all the stops for a grand New Year's Eve celebration. With two special All Star Showdowns, Detroiters will ring in the new year with the area's best improv comedy. An early show at 7:00 PM ($35) includes special prizes with an ending around 9:30 PM so that patrons can head out to their own or other midnight celebrations. A late, 10:00 PM show ($50) also includes special prizes, New Year's party with appetizers, a champagne toast at midnight followed by Beerio Kart on the Go Comedy! stage.

The variety of shows coming to the Go Comedy! stage this month also includes:
Beerio Kart
A Go Comedy! original event that brings beer and video games (Mario Kart) together at last in an elimination tournament among friends. Bring your friends for a late night of gaming, drinking and good old friendly competition. $5 admission includes beer for one round of Beerio Kart play, for those 21 and older.

Fresh Sauce
Go Comedy!'s open improv jam. Anyone with an interest in improv can play improv games with other improvisers of all experience levels.

Matt Naas Variety Show
Matt Naas hosts Go Comedy!'s variety show, The Matt Naas Variety Show featuring live music from the Variety All-Star Band, surprise guests and the best in local talent. Matt & his crew will bring a new experience to the stage each month.

NewsIsh
Go Comedy! has taken a little bit of The Daily Show and Last Week Tonight with a dash of Weekend Update and created NewsIsh. Each month the NewsIsh team will take a hilarious and often satirical look at the local, national and international news while providing commentary, satire and insight on important issues.

A Very Merry Clusterf*ck with Mary Beth and Jenny
From the award-winning and awe-inspiring minds of Mary Beth Kolbisz and Jenny Bloomer, A Very Merry Clusterf*ck will take you on a festive tour of the holiday season. We guarantee it will be unlike anything you've seen before. Have we mentioned they won an award? Christmas. Awards. Togetherness. Clusterf*ck.

The X-Factory
For more than a year,In the darkest corners of the Go Labs (where lighting is poor due to a lack of electrical outlets) Improv Doctors Pete Jacokes and James Quesada are producing bold, innovative new shows.

Seven-years of original comedy
In the fall of 2008 the former Ferndale Secretary of State office was transformed into Go Comedy! Improv Theater - a catalyst for hundreds of original shows, a robust improv academy, and an incubator for innovation, inspiration and integrity. Today, Go Comedy! is home for hundreds of improvisers, at least 50 improv troupes, and a weekly schedule of hilarious award-winning programming that has garnered local and national recognition.

The theater's signature show continues to be The Go Comedy! All Star Showdown which has played on Friday and Saturday nights continually for six years. Featuring members of Go Comedy! resident company, The All Star Showdown puts two teams of improvisers in an improv competition tailored to challenge their abilities, think on their feet and give audiences a roaring good time. The cast also plays for audience members who take home fabulous prizes when their team wins. It's a night of hilarious laughs and great times!
