The Emergent Arts Theatre Company will present its first full season of plays this year, starting with Neil Simon‘s The Odd Couple May 24-27 at the Arthur Miller Theatre, 1226 Murfin, in the Walgreen Drama Center, Ann Arbor, MI. This first production will feature Jon Elliott and Steve Elliott in the lead roles of Oscar and Felix, with direction by Tim Henning.

Emergent Arts has produced 1 or 2 plays each year for the past 3 years, ranging from The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie (at the Arthur Miller) to Waiting For Godot by Samuel Becket (at the Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti). In the 2012 season, the company plans to continue in its commitment to present a four play season running through Christmas.

To make things more affordable in these economically challenging times, the company is offering a Tax Relief Special on all tickets to all performances bought through its website at www.emergentarts.com, of just $10 per ticket, offer good through April 15,2012.

Other plays in the season will be Yankee Tavern, by Steven Dietz, direction by Debra Reichard, featuring local favorite Larry Rusinsky, June 28 through July1 at the Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti. Also at the Riverside Arts Center will be a new play by Timothy Henning based on the story of Jekyll and Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. Staged readings will be held periodically, with a first production October 18-21.

Finally, running December 20 through 23, Emergent Arts will again present its holiday favorite, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, adaptation by Timothy Henning, at the Arthur Miller Theatre, 1226 Murfin, Ann Arbor.

From now until April 15, 2012, tickets to all performances are available at www.emergentarts.com for just $10 each as part of the company’s Tax Relief Special. Season tickets for all four shows are also available for just $35. After April 15, tickets are $20 General Admission, $16 Seniors and Students with ID. All prices are subject to change without notice, and are non-refundable. E-mail info@emergentarts.com for additional info or call (734) 985-0875.
