Cast members of the touring production of The Spectacular New Production of "THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA" (coming to Detroit January 11 - 22 at the Detroit Opera House) will perform in a very special concert to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Ferndale Schools Orchestras. The benefit takes place on Monday, January 16 (7 p.m.) at The Loving Touch - 22634 Woodward Avenue in Ferndale. Doors open at 6 p.m. This is an 18 and over event.

Guests attending can support a good cause as they enjoy an intimate evening featuring a cabaret-style performance by members of the cast from the National Tour of "THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA," as they perform some of their favorite songs and familiar Broadway tunes. The evening, hosted by SABIN, will also feature a silent auction and cash bar. Nashville-based band, MACKINAC closes out the event with a performance.

Admission for the event is $25 in advance or at the door. All funds raised at the event (admission and silent auction) will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Ferndale Schools Orchestras. Tickets for "DETROIT CONCERT FOR A CURE" are available service fee free at the Woodward Avenue Brewery box office, located at 22646 Woodward Avenue in Ferndale, or at the door at The Loving Touch on the night of the show.

Nashville based MACKINAC began composing experimental demos inside an apartment in Plymouth, Michigan. They recently began releasing the recordings they have finished, starting with two EPs before their debut concept album due out Spring 2017. Many of the samples and field recordings have been collected in studios, houses, and streets around the US, Iceland, and Ireland. To follow, visit dowhatyoufeel.org.

Cameron Mackintosh's spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's phenomenal musical success, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, will come to Detroit as part of a brand new North American Tour. Critics are raving that this breathtaking production is "bigger and better than ever before." This PHANTOM features a brilliant new scenic design by Paul Brown, Tony Award-winning original costume design by Maria Björnson, lighting design by Tony Award winner Paule Constable, new choreography by Scott Ambler, and a new staging by director Laurence Connor. The production, overseen by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh, boasts many exciting special effects including the show's legendary chandelier. The beloved story and thrilling score - with songs like "Music of the Night," "All I Ask Of You," and "Masquerade" - is performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this PHANTOM one of the largest productions now on tour.

Tickets for "The Phantom of the Opera" are available at all Ticketmaster locations, by phone at 1-800-982-2787, online at www.broadwayindetroit.com or www.ticketmaster.com, The Fisher Theatre box office and Detroit Opera House box office.
