The Farmington Players barn theater announces a "killer" slate of one-word wonders for the 2013-14 season: Dracula, Annie, Assassins and Rumors.

DRACULA: October 11-November 2: This sensual and scary drama opens the season on the Barn's brand new stage floor-- and yes there is a Halloween show! Count Dracula may want your blood, but first he wants "your fear. For your fear, like a current, rushes through your body. Your fear makes your heart pound, it renders your veins rich and full. Your fear hemorrhages deliciously within you." This new adaptation restores the suspense and seduction of Bram Stoker's classic novel to the stage. As Count Dracula terrorizes the residents of London, they piece together the clues of his appearances to save themselves from a hideous fate. Dripping with humor and horror, this play paints a wickedly theatrical picture of Stoker's famous vampire.

ANNIE: December 13-29: This well-loved musical tells the hopeful tale of Annie, a rambunctious redheaded orphan searching for her birth parents. Annie and her dog Sandy leave the orphanage for the mansion of billionaire Oliver Warbucks, who wants to host an orphan at Christmas time for the positive publicity. Annie's visit takes some unexpected twists and turns as she works her way into everyone's hearts and learns a few things for herself. Set in 1933, this holiday classic's contagious optimism about the prospects for a better "Tomorrow" is bound to kill you with smiles.

ASSASSINS: February 14, 2014- March 1: This deliciously dark Stephen Sondheim musical explores the minds and motives of the nine men and women who have attempted to assassinate the President of the United States. The show uses the premise of a murderous carnival game to produce a revue-style portrayal of these real-life assassins, from John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald. While not justifying their actions, Sondheim portrays these individuals as pursuing their own version of the American Dream. The results are thought provoking, unsettling and often humorous, despite the dark subject matter.

RUMORS: April 25, 2014-May 17: Playwright Neil Simon is at his best in this zany fast-paced farce, designed to kill you with laughter. The Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself on his tenth wedding anniversary. While it's only a flesh wound, the cover-up takes on a life of its own as the aristocratic guests arrive at a posh townhouse for a celebratory dinner. While the host lies bleeding in the other room and his wife is nowhere in sight, the other couples must get "the story" straight to conceal the truth from the media and police. As the confusions and miscommunications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.

Reserved seats for all shows are on sale now at The Farmington Players box office: 248-553-2955 or go online at www.farmingtonplayers.org.
