Iowa City's Mission Creek Festival is excited to announce additional artists playing this year's festival. The latest batch of performers includes Kimya Dawson, Caroline Smith & the Goodnight Sleeps, Lulacruza, and a strong group of local favorite acts.

Kimya Dawson is a singer-songwriter, known for her work as a solo performer and as half of the folk duo The Moldy Peaches. Dawson's songs were featured predominately in the Grammy winning soundtrack to the film Juno. Minneapolis-based Caroline Smith & the Goodnight Sleeps are familiar to the Iowa City music scene. They are touring in support their sophomore album Little Wind. Lulacruza, a folk-electronica act, comes from Argentina and Columbia, adding a distinct South American sound to the festival lineup.

Other confirmed acts include:
Like Pioneers (ex-Bound Stems)
Caroline Smith & the Goodnight Sleeps
Rene Hell
Christopher the Conquered
Mumfords
The Olympics
T'Bone
The Lonelyhearts
Alexis Stevens
The Savage Young Taterbug

These new acts join a lineup that already features indie-pop luminaries The Magnetic Fields, comedian David Cross, singer/songwriter Sharon Van Etten, and afro-beat legend Seun Kuti & Egypt 80.

The festival will take place March 27 - April 1, 2012.
