The Des Moines Community Playhouse's Final Act Ensemble will present an original radio play of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7:00 PM, at The Playhouse. Tickets are $5 for all ages and available at the door or in advance at The Playhouse ticket office, 515-277-6261.

It's Christmas Eve. Ebenezer Scrooge, a stingy businessman, is visited by the ghost of his former partner, Marley, who warns him to change his ways. Scrooge is visited by three more ghosts -- the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Future -- who show him scenes from his life. After his travels, Scrooge awakes in the morning a changed man: kind and generous.

The Final Act Ensemble performs classic and original radio plays, including commercials and sound effects. Programs are available for youth, adult, and multi-generational audiences.

The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
