March Madness not your cup of tea? Didn't get a ticket to the big game? Luckily for you, there are several great plays to see in Des Moines this month. And scoring a ticket to these great shows will be easier than nabbing that game ticket but will no doubt prove just as rewarding.

Repertory Theater of Iowa presents the Clarence Darrow: A One-Man Play by David W. Rintels. In the play, Darrow, one of the United States' most well known criminal attorneys, recounts his career, including the Scopes Monkey Trial and the Leopold and Loeb murder trial. StageWest will present the drama My Name is Asher Lev. The play follows the conflict faced by a young Jewish artist forced to choose between his faith and his desire for artistic fulfillment. My Name is Asher Lev runs March 20th - 29th. For more information visit StageWest.

The drama Independence will be presented by Tallgrass Theatre Company at the end of this month. Set in the small town of Independence, Iowa, the play tells the story of a fractured family forced together in the face of the matriarch's illness. Independence runs March 27th - April 11th.
