The Denver Center Theatre Company will begin selling single tickets to the upcoming 2013/14 season today, August 5.

The 10-play season includes four exhilarating world premieres selected from the 2013 Colorado New Play Summit. Karen Zacarías' adaptation of Helen Thorpe's book Just Like Us, Catherine Trieschmann's comedy The Most Deserving, Matthew Lopez's heartfelt The Legend of Georgia McBride and Marcus Gardley's adaptation of Homer's epic poem, black odyssey, will all take to the stage to dazzle Denver audiences. Also selected for the season is a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, an adaptation of a Marx Brother's script, Shakespeare's tragic masterpiece, a powerful and poignant love story and the return of a Christmas classic.

Death of a Salesman

Arthur Miller's Pulitzer- and Tony-winning drama Death of a Salesman is the story of Willy Loman, a failing salesman who cannot accept that his dreams for his family are no match for realities of their ordinary lives. This heartbreaking portrayal of the American Dream explores families, promises and how slowly both can break.

Based on Helen Thorpe's bestselling book, this play follows four Latina girls in Denver as immigration status begins to erode their opportunities - and their friendships. When the crime of an illegal immigrant ignites a political firestorm, the girls, the city and the nation must ask themselves who has the right to live in America when achievements and documents collide.

A small town Arts Council has $20,000 to award to a local artist with an "under-represented American voice." Should they choose the teacher/painter of modest talent or the self-taught artist who creates religious figures out of trash? This comedy explores how gossip, politics and opinions of art can decide who is the most deserving.

This engaging, family-friendly show about a time traveling Little Leaguer plucks all the right heartstrings. Joey Stoshack jumps back in time to witness Jackie Robinson break the baseball color barrier for a school project. When Joey's skin color changes in the process, he learns how different the world can look and how important it is to have a hero.

Shadowlands

A deeply moving reminder that great loss cannot exist without great love, Shadowlands is a biographical look at the late-in-life blooming relationship between C.S. Lewis and wife Joy Davidman. The lynchpin of the story is Davidman's cancer diagnosis, and how the reverberation of that moment shakes the foundation of Lewis' strong faith.
