Theatre Aspen Expands Food Service at the Hurst; Hosts BeerCRUSH at Tonight's Performance of THE FULL MONTY

Theatre Aspen announces expanded lobby hours as well as exciting food offerings at the Hurst Theatre. Located in the beautiful setting of the John Denver Sanctuary in Rio Grande Park, Theatre Aspen's concession area is now open throughout the day offering gourmet, pre-packaged items daily (closed Sundays). In partnership with local chef Mawa McQueen, of Mawa's Kitchen, visitors can enjoy healthy snack boxes in the theatre's open air lobby or picnic outside in and around the Rio Grande Park. Food items include charcuterie platters, salads, a Mediterranean sampler and other small meals. Mawa's Kitchen is available for "pop-up" dinners at the tent for groups wishing to cater a meal prior to a Theatre Aspen performance. Group ticket discounts would apply.

Also new tonight, August 1st, Theatre Aspen is embracing the CRUSH-ing party atmosphere in Rio Grande Park on by holding a party prior to a special late-night performance of The Full Monty. Designed in the spirit of ArtCRUSH, TA will open the lobby at 7:30 to host BeerCRUSH, and all ticket holders to The Full Monty can get dinner and a beer for only $10, prior to the 9 pm performance. A cash bar will also be available. Beer is hosted by Aspen Brewing Company and food is provided by Mawa's Kitchen.

Upcoming at Theatre Aspen is the opening of The Cottage, on July 24th. The Cottage is a farce inspired by the works of Noel Coward and set in the 1920s English countryside. Written by Sandy Rustin, The Cottage is a tale of sex, betrayal and true love, revealing a surprising web of secrets in this hilarious-and-almost-murderous-romantic comedy. Don Stephenson, currently on Broadway in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder directs. Stephenson has appeared in seven Broadway shows and directed a star-studded Titanic in February at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. The Full Monty runs most evenings and has received rave reviews. The popular family musical Little Women runs through August 16th, during weekend matinees at 10 am, and select evening performances.
