In 1922, young Millie Dillmount from Kansas high-tails it to The Big Apple in search of a new life. Armed with a shorter hemline and a grand plan to marry a wealthy man, she's ready to secure her future as a "modern" woman. However, her plan goes completely awry when the man she actually falls in love with doesn't have a dime to his name.

Filled with tap dancing flappers, a soaring score and hilarious characters that will have audiences roaring with laughter - go back to the height of the Jazz Age this holiday season when Thoroughly Modern Mille plays BDT Stage November 19, 2016 through February 25, 2017.

Six time Tony Award winner, including Best Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie features explosive tap numbers and swinging music, including How the Other Half Lives, Only in New York, and Gimme Gimme. "This show is a high-energy tapping extravaganza!" exclaims BDT artistic director Michael J. Duran. "With Seles [VanHuss] as our leading lady, and a robust cast of tap- dancing veterans like Burke Walton as Jimmy, Scott Severtson as Graydon, and Rebekah Ortiz as Millie's hysterically clueless best friend, it's going to be a party at BDT this winter!"

New music for Thoroughly Modern Mille by Jeanine Tesori, and new lyrics by Dick Scanlan. Book by Dick Scanlan and Richard Morris. The original story and screenplay by Richard Morris for the 1967 Universal Pictures film starred Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler Moore, and Carol Channing. Frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a villainess dragon lady that everyone loves to hate makes Thoroughly Modern Millie a perfectly constructed evening of madcap merriment.

Tickets for Thoroughly Modern Millie are on sale now. Prices start at just $40 and include both the performance and dinner served by the stars of the show. All tickets for preview performances (November 19 -23, 2016) are just $40. Group rate tickets and season subscriptions are available for all performances throughout the year. BDT Stage presents four Broadway-quality musicals each season, and has been recognized locally and nationally for commitment to theatrical excellence. BDT Stage continues its 39th season with Thoroughly Modern Millie on November 19, the adult-themed comedy Disenchanted on March 3, 2017, and family favorite Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on May 13. The all-vocal rock band Face performs for four dates this holiday season on November 28, 29, December 12 and 13, followed by a Motown concert by the Motones on New Year's Eve.
