Spark Theater has announced the regional premiere of Sally Nemeth's "Mill Fire" for the conclusion of its 2012-13 season. Production runs May 10th - June 1st, 2013, with performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10-20 and available online at www.sparktheater.org.

Set in a small steel town in the late 70's, "Mill Fire" tells the story of Marlene who has lost her husband in a fire at the steel mill along with several other men. She refuses to grieve in the conventional, appropriate manner which puts her at odds with the rest of her community and at odds against her brother who survived the fire, and her sister-in-law. Who is to blame for the tragedy? It is the steel mill with their economic pressures? Was Marlene's brother incapacitated by medication and unable to perform to the standards of his job? Or perhaps the tragedy is not the lives lost but the lives missed.

"Mill Fire" marks the debut of Spark's new Artistic Director, Roger Winn.

Play by Sally Nemeth and Directed by Roger Winn. The Cast includes: Alejandra Venancio, Gina Wencel, Phil Luna, Doug Tisdale, Karen Kargel, Rosie Goodman, Gwyneth Johansen and Jason Nelson.
