It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back. These are the stories and characters of today, the "Songs For A New World". This moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love and the choices we make.

The collection of songs are performed by 4 cast members who play a startling array of characters ranging from a young man who has determined that basket-ball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams and a soulless marriage.

The musical, sung in its entirety, combines pop, gospel, holiday and jazz in a series of songs all connected by the theme: "the moment of decision." "Surabaya-Santa," "Christmas Lullaby" and the famous "Stars and the Moon" can't be missed.

Jason Robert Brown is the three-time TONY Award-winning composer and lyricist of "Songs For A New World," "Parade," "The Last Five Years," "13," "The Bridges of Madison County" and "Honeymoon In Vegas," opening on Broadway this season. He performs around the world as a soloist and with his band, The Caucasian Rhythm Kings, with whom he recorded his CD Wearing Someone Else's Clothes. A film of The Last Five Years opens in theaters in February 2015, and a film of 13 is currently in development. He has conducted his orchestral suite The Trumpet of the Swan with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, and he has taught acting and composition at universities and colleges across the US and the UK.
