The first Wednesday of each month, Illegal Pete's will be presenting some of the finest independent bands and recording artists that the region has to offer. It's a night of comedy, music, friends and fun. The show will open with a top-notch comedian with great music following to round out the evening. A special night in the coolest showroom in town for only $10.00! Hosted each month by the clever Andrew Orvedahl, known as 1/3 of the buzzworthy comedy group The Grawlix, and creator of the monthly storytelling series, the Narrators.

Performing at the first Greater Than Social Club is a Denver band Illegal Pete's record label, Greater Than Collective, is thrilled to be working with in the new year: A. Tom Collins. The five-piece navigates the murky swamps of New Orleans R&B and '60s Soul, and follows the cues of diverse influences from Tom Waits and Cab Calloway, to The Stooges and Sam Cooke. Their next album is slated for release in late spring. Also making a special appearance is the national comic Sean Patton, who cut his teeth doing stand-up in New Orleans, and has appeared on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and "Conan."

As a comedian, Andrew Orvedahl he has toured coast to coast opening for some of the biggest names in comedy at clubs, theaters, and colleges. He is a regular at his home club, the renowned Comedy Works in Denver, and has performed at the Aspen, Las Vegas, Seattle, and Bridgetown comedy festivals. In 2010, Andrew created the hit storytelling show, 'The Narrators,' which he also hosts monthly. Andrew has appeared on Last Comic Standing several times, on Comedy Central's website, and on Sirius XM Radio.

Tom Collins is a five-piece rock 'n' roll band that are hard to pigeon-hole, navigating the murky swamps of New Orleans R&B and '60s Soul, and following the cues of diverse influences from Tom Waits and Cab Calloway, to The Stooges and Sam Cooke. A. Tom Collins drops anchor with an impressive crash at each and every port, transfixing bewildered audiences with its strange brand of old time futurism that is as familiar as it is refreshing. Expect wild horns, surprising rhythms, catchy gang chants, and one hell of a live show led by AaRon Collins, who Denver's alt-weekly Westword called 'one of the city's best frontmen.'

In its short history, A. Tom Collins has been featured at SXSW 2011 and 2012, Denver's Westword Music Showcase in 2010/2011/2012, and headlined the Denver Post Underground Music Showcase in 2011 and 2012. Expect a new full length record from the band, produced by the legendary Bob Ferbache (16 Horsepower, Slim Cessna's Autoclub, Devotchka), slated for a March 2013 release, and much more in the works, soon to be announced.
