The Fine Arts Center Theatre Company is thrilled to conclude its 25th anniversary theatre season with a production of the acclaimed musical revue Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well And Living In Paris, June 20-30 in the historic SaGaJi Theatre at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.

Originally produced off-Broadway in 1968, this revue of over two-dozen of Jacques Brel's most famous songs (including Amsterdam, Madeleine, If We Only Have Love), ran for over four years in New York, achieved international success and was made into a major-motion picture in 1975. Jacques Brel was a singer-songwriter who generated a large, devoted following worldwide for his literate, thoughtful and theatrical songs. Considered a master of the modern chanson, he became a major influence on other songwriters such as David Bowie and Leonard Cohen. While most of Brel's songs were written in French, this show features English lyrics sung to perfection by four extremely talented performers and four consummate musicians.

Scott RC Levy, the FAC's Producing Artistic Director promises "an enchanting and entertaining evening of beautiful theatrical songs, in an environment that will make you feel like you have stepped into a Parisian nightclub."

The cast features FAC favorites Halee Towne (Assassins, The Producers), Lacey Connell (Gypsy, A Year With Frog & Toad) Max Ferguson (The Drowsy Chaperone, In The Next Room) and Alejandro Roldan (Hairspray).

The creative team is helmed by director/choreographer Nathan Halvorson, who is making his FAC mainstage debut with this production, after having directed/choreographed the FAC Youth Rep Production of As Thousands Cheer last summer. Halvorson recently received his MFA in Directing from the University of Iowa.

Ian Ferguson leads a four-piece band and returns to the FAC as Music Director following his work on the popular Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical earlier this season. The creative team also includes Christopher L. Sheley (Scenic Design), Holly Anne Rawls (Lighting Design), and Janson Fangio (Costume Design).

Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well And Living In Paris is sponsored by El Pomar Foundation, Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado, KLITE 106.3, KKTV, Colorado Springs Independent, The Mining Exchange, A Wyndham Grand Hotel, and the members of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
