The Denver Center for the Performing Arts will host the 2nd production of Theatre Threads, a costume runway show, on Friday October 21 at 11:30am in the Seawell Grand Ballroom. The show will feature 22 costumes from the Denver Center Theatre Company's 30+-year history. Theatre Threads is a benefit for arts in education programs at the Denver Center.

The twenty-two costumes are a special collection from the DCTC's repository of more than7,000 costumes and include looks from shows such as Dracula, Midsummer Night's Dream, House of the Spirits, Much Ado About Nothing, and Mrs. Warren's Profession. In an average season of plays, DCTC will put 350-400 different costumes onstage, the majority of which are created from scratch. It is estimated the DCTC costume shops have created between 10,000 and 11,000 costumes since opening in 1979.

"The costumes worn on the runway represent the skill, talent, and hard work of the great team that makes up the costume, costume crafts, and wig departments of the Denver Center Theatre Company", says DCTC Costume Designer Kevin Copenhaver. "Every person in each of these shops is a skilled artist. We work with the directors and designers in collaboration to put onstage the best possible visual representation of a character."

Proceeds from Theatre Threads benefit Arts in Education at The Denver Center for the Performing Arts. These programs allow 50,000 students in the region to experience live theatre each year, many of them for the first time.

This year's featured models are Chairman and CEO Daniel L. Ritchie, Edna Chang-Grant, Jody Charmatz, Terri Fisher, Alice Foster, Teresa Kennedy, Judy McNeil, Claudia Miller, Jody Phelps, Gregory Sargowicki, Jean Smooke, Susan Stiff, Keri Christiansen, Sharon Cooper, John Farnam, Adrienne Ruston Fitzgibbons, Arlene Mohler Johnson, Gail Johnson, Stephanie Odak, Lois Paul, Judi Wolf and David Zupancic. Participants will enjoy the runway show as well as lunch by Epicurean Catering. Chris Parente and Deborah Takahara of Denver's Channel 2 News will emcee the event. Theatre Threads is co-chaired by Gayle Novak and Lisa Daniel-Johnson and is sponsored by Lufthansa German Airlines. Tickets are $100 per person and are available at denvercenter.org/theatrethreads.
