Creede Repertory Theatre Announces Season for 2011
I Capture the Castle

by Dodie Smith

A budding writer and her vibrant, Bohemian family live in a crumbling castle in the English country-side. Though the castle's residents face a shortage of money, they have creativity, love, and merriment in abundance. A beautiful coming-of-age tale from the author of The One-Hundred and One Dalmatians, this romantic comedy celebrates the vital importance of family and will capture the hearts of young and old alike.

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser

Book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock, and Willie Gilbert, based on Shepherd Mead's 1952 book of the same name.

An ambitious young window-washer aims for the corner office - but will his hilariously unorthodox business practices destroy the World-Wide Wicket Company - and his office romance? Before The Mary Tyler Moore Show or The Office, this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning musical was the original corporate comedy, giving life to such classics as "I Believe in You," "Happy to Keep His Dinner Warm," and "Brotherhood of Man."
Unnecessary Farce

by Paul Slade Smith

Two undercover cops stake-out a motel room to catch a crooked mayor on tape. Sounds simple, right? Nope. Because his accountant keeps removing her clothes, his head of security has fear issues, and an insane Scottish hitman keeps locking people in closets. Sometimes, in order for a cop to stay alive, fully-clothed, and in the right motel room, it's necessary to resort to unnecessary farce.

The Road to Mecca

by Athol Fugard

Christy Brandt stars as an eccentric and deeply artistic soul who transforms her home into a strange and wonderful work of art. But both her home - her Mecca, she calls it - and her reluctance to enter an old-age home, are unsettling to her traditional South African community.

This breathtaking play illuminates the perpetual conflict between young and old, individuality and convention, and the darkness and light in one's own life.

Continued on pThe Bad Man

by Steven Cole Hughes

At the end of Billy Hell, the deadly gunfighter, Silly Billy, was shot dead. But the love of his life isn't willing to take dead for an answer. She said she'd follow him to hell if need be. And so she will. The thrilling and darkly comedic culmination of the Billy & Bessy saga heralds the end of the Old West. The time of gunslingers and Lakota, mystery and lawlessness is ending. But not without a fight.

The Mystery of Irma Vep

by Charles Ludlam

Thrills! Chills! Laughs! This hilarious spoof of gothic horror and Victorian melodrama brings comedy to wuthering new heights. Two actors deftly jump from character to character with dizzying speed - conjuring lovesick werewolves, ridiculous vampires, and countless other creatures of camp. If you're a fan of theatrical calisthenics (or simply have a pulse), Irma Vep will leave you gasping for breath.
