The Candlelight Dinner Playhouse has announced open auditions for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, BYE, BYE BIRDIE.

Auditions will be held Monday, September 13, 2010 from noon to 7pm at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 5:30pm. Auditions are by appointment only and can be made by calling the Box Office at 970-744-3747. BYE, BYE BIRDIE will open January 21, 2011 and run through March 20, 2011. Performances are Thursday through Saturday nights and Sunday matinees. Additional performances may be added.

Looking for experienced adult and teen actors with strong singing ability and dance experience. Roles will be cast age appropriate. All roles are available. All roles non-equity. All roles paid.

Actors should bring headshot and resume and prepare 16-32 bars of an up tempo musical theater piece in the style of the show as well as a ballad. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key. No a capella or recorded music. Dance call will be held at callbacks. Rehearsals will begin approximately January 3, 2011 with rehearsal times to be determined.

ADULT ROLES:
Albert Peterson (Baritone, plays 28-38, dance, pratfalls) Strong acting, good voice needed.
Rosie Alvarez (Alto, plays 25-35) A true "triple-theat" role. Strong acting, singing and dancing needed.
Conrad Birdie (Baritone, plays 21-30, dance) Elvislike. Strong 'pop' voice. Dancing is required but not difficult.
Mr. Harry MacAfee (Baritone, Comedic, plays 40-55) A comedic role. Singing is required but is not difficult.
Mrs. Doris MacAfee (Mezzo, plays 40-50) Singing is required but is not difficult.
Mae Peterson (Alto, Comedic, plays 50-75) Strong acting and good comic timing.
Adult Ensemble (4 men, 4 women, plays 26-40) Covers several featured chorus roles. Dancing is required but not difficult.
CROSSOVER ROLES (will consider both high school teens and adults):
Kim MacAfee (Soprano/Mezzo, plays 15, high A) Strong acting and singing, group dancing.
Hugo Peabody (Non-Singing role, plays15-18) May double into teen chorus as tenor or baritone.
TEEN ROLES:
Randolph (Tenor, plays 10-13) Singing is required but is not difficult. Will audition 10-16 year old boys only.
Teen Ensemble (4 boys, 4 girls, plays 15-18) Covers several featured chorus roles. Strong singing and dancing skills needed
