Delaware Theatre Company, under the artistic leadership of Bud Martin, excitedly welcomes dance legend Maurice Hines to Wilmington with his new musical MAURICE HINES IS TAPPIN' THRU LIFE. Audiences will be wowed by this infectious performer, who brings his life and treasured moments to the stage through heartwarming montages and performances. Directed by two-time Tony Award-winning director Jeff Calhoun and featuring a new generation of tap dancing extraordinaires, The Manzari Brothers, and music by the all-female big band Diva Jazz Orchestra, TAPPIN' THRU LIFE will dance its way onto Delaware Theatre Company's stage for a three week run from September 16-October 4, 2015.

Through song and dance, Hines pays tribute to his brother and longtime dance partner, the late Gregory Hines, by taking the audience on a journey through his incredible career in show business. Along the way, Hines pays homage to a number of inspiring showbiz legends, including Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Lena Horne and Judy Garland, among others. The result is a high-energy production that mixes vaudeville with Vegas and will leave audiences smiling from ear to ear.

"Get ready to laugh, smile and tap your feet to the infectious song and dance of Maurice Hines. Be sure to catch this performance before Maurice takes his show on the road", says Martin. "We are honored to begin the most artistically ambitious season of Delaware Theatre Company's 37-year history with such an electrifying and touching production, and even more honored to allow our audiences to experience the work of such talented artists such as Maurice Hines and Jeff Calhoun". "Delaware Theatre Company continues to be the only theatre in the State of Delaware developing and producing new works for Broadway, and it is works like TAPPIN' THRU LIFE that make this vision worth it. I know you'll enjoy it"
