Clear Space Theatre to Host Musical Theatre Summer Intensive for 10th Year, July-Aug 2014
The Clear Space Theatre Company announces the return of their Musical Theatre Summer Intensive season for the 10th consecutive year with five separate week-long camps held at the Clear Space Theatre in downtown Rehoboth Beach.
Mirroring the rehearsal and production process of Clear Space's own summer repertory season, students create and perform a condensed version of a popular Broadway musical in just one week. Their faculty of industry professionals guides students through instruction in acting, dance and vocal technique, as well as group rehearsals.
Clear Space offers the following Musical Theatre camps: Grades 1-3: THE JUNGLE BOOK - July 8 - 12; Grades 4-6: WILLY WONKA - July 15 - 19; Grades 7-12: GREASE - July 29 -August 2; All Grades (By Recommendation): MAMMA MIA - August 5 - 9; and the Acting Summer Intensive (Grades 1-12) JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. All five camps end with two performances on the final day at 11am and 12:30p.m.
Artistic Director, Doug Yetter stated, "The five weeks of Summer Intensives have infinite rewards for all involved - from the campers to the faculty. The pride the students take in their accomplishments over the week is truly remarkable. Because of the amount of information students have to absorb, you can literally watch the transformation in their work on an hourly basis."
Tuition for each camp is $325 and includes all instruction, materials, Camp T-shirt, tickets to the Student Performance and 1 student ticket to a CSTC Summer Repertory evening performance. Scholarships are available for talented students with financial need. Only 40 students per camp may register - early registration is advised as the camps tend to fill up quickly.
