Actors and Artists Unite to end Alzheimer's is off and running- not walking! into 2016 with 42 teams nationwide for the Walk to end Alzheimer's- and still counting!

"It's like Christmas every week," marveled Nancy Daly, Founder and National Team Captain of AA Unite. "Walk season started a few weeks ago and every few days, another team joins our national team to raise awareness, solidarity and to walk and work for a cure. We have teams all around the country- our first teams in Nashville, the Twin Cities, Alabama and Vermont joined us this year- New York, Washington DC, Miami, Chicago, Ohio, Texas, South Carolina, Virginia, Wilmington, Phoenix- new teams in Dallas- and more. In the midst of chaos and turmoil- it is very heartening to me that artists around the country come together in unity to honor their loved ones and support each other for a world without Alzheimer's. My Facebook page has become a network for our team!

"Every weekend, I'm out there at 6 AM to hike in solidarity with our teams. It's my job as captain- I walk with my teams! I post which teams are walking and where and teams around the country cheer for them. "Sending support from Delaware!" "Texas loves you San Francisco!" It's what I dreamed of in 2011 when we founded this team- a national team that stands by each other and for each other- and walks together. I have lost four women in my family to Alzheimer's. I walk for them and for my cousins who share my family history that we will have a future we remember. We have six more weeks- and more teams keep joining us. We hit a historic goal last year of over $150,000 since 2011. We're at 170,000 now! What a team! We'll keep walking in glory."

Actors and Artists Unite to end Alzheimer's is a non-corporate national team for the Walk to end Alzheimer's for the national Alzheimer's Association. Anyone can join or start an AA Unite team in any city that has a Walk.
