Playhouse South in collaboration with the Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra will present a Theater Under the Stars production of Cole Porter's classic play within a play, Kiss Me Kate. Performances will be held at the North Park Amphitheatre in Springboro. Performances will be August 7-9 and August 14-16, 2009. All performances are at 7:30 pm.

Kiss Me Kate brilliantly mixes the music of Cole Porter with Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew to make one fierce battle of the sexes. Chaos ensues when two former lovers play opposite each other on stage and discover there is a fine line between love and hate. Throw in a few gangsters, a hefty I.O.U., and some unexpected romance and this musical is sure to have you on the edge of your seats.

Directed by Dawn Roth Smith and Carrie Thurston with musical direction by John W. Johns and choreography by Jill Proudfoot, this musical features memorable moments including popular music and dance numbers like "Too Darn Hot", and "Another Op'ning, Another Show"

The show is free, however donations will be accepted (recommended donation of at least $5 at the door). Please bring chairs and blankets. For more information, please visit www.playhousesouth.org or call the box office at 888-262-3792.
