WaterTower Theatre Announces Terry Martin To Lead OUR TOWN 9/24-10/24

WaterTower Theatre today announced casting details for Our Town which opens the Company's 15th anniversary season. The ensemble cast includes Terry Martin, WaterTower Theatre's Producing Artistic Director (who is also directing the play) in the role of the avuncular Stage Manager, who narrates the action.

The cast features Emily Scott Banks as Mrs. Gibbs; Allyn Carrell as Citizen; Rosaura Cruz as Rebecca Gibbs; Joey Folsom as George Gibbs; Stan Graner as Mr. Webb; Tenaya Griffin as Citizen; Lloyd Harvey as Citizen; Cody Hinson as Citizen; Caitlin Johnston as Citizen; Jeff McGee as Howie Newsome; Chris Messersmith as Joe Stoddard; Matt Moore as Sam Craig; Chris Nolan as Joe Crowell; Guinn Powell as Constable Warren; John Pszyk as Mr. Gibbs; Mary-Margaret Pyeatt as Mrs. Webb; Russell Schultz as Professor Willard; Nancy Sherrard as Mrs. Soames; Brandon Simmons as Wally Webb; Ian Patrick Stack as Si Crowell; Maxey Whitehead as Emily Webb and Ted Wold as Simon Stimson.

Our Town previews September 24, 25 & 26 and opens on Monday, September 27 running through October 24. Press/Media night is Monday, September 27 at 7:30 pm.

"Our Town is the first play I ever saw," said Terry Martin. "That production of Our Town in Evergreen, Alabama, some 40 years ago had such a riveting effect on me that it was without question the driving force that led me into a life-long career in the theatre. It has long been an ambition to direct this play and I feel privileged to also be playing the role of the Stage Manager in the WaterTower Theatre production."

Our Town premiered in 1938 and won the Pulitzer Prize that year. Ever since, Our Town has been performed all over the world, and is currently enjoying a long run in New York. Our Town has become a much beloved classic and is, perhaps, the most frequently produced play by an American playwright. Interweaving past and present, Thornton Wilder's stark and simple masterpiece chronicles the daily life of close knit families and reveals the universal truths that connect us all.
