Theatre Three announces a five-show season for its Theatre Too downstairs studio space, including revamped classics, a world premiere and a chilling Conor McPherson thriller. Under Acting Artistic Director Bruce R. Coleman, the lineup includes "The Sum of Us" by David Stevens, "A Christmas Carol: The Radio Show" by David Alberts, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" by Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Roberts, "The Empress, The Lady, and The Pearl Part II; Miss Billie and Miss Freddie" by diannetucker and "The Birds" by Conor McPherson. The 99-seat blackbox theatre is located downstairs at Theatre Three, 2800 Routh Street #168 in Dallas, Texas. Tickets to Theatre Too shows range from $35.00-$40.00 and are on sale now. Discounts are available for students (with valid ID), seniors, KERA Members and Theatre Three season subscribers (50% off per number of season tickets for Main Stage).

"Theatre Too has always been a great little space to uncover a hidden treasure," says Coleman. "In our upcoming season, we'll tell you tales about family that will surprise and touch you, musical legends after 'the fall,' and nature taking its revenge on mankind! We are going to bring you one great story after another. Don't miss out!"

"The Sum of Us," running September 1-25, 2016, is directed by Mark C. Guerra and explores the volatile relationship between an aging widower and his gay son. After meeting in a local pub, Jeff and a young gardener, Greg, hit it off and begin to date. When he meets Jeff's stubborn, opinionated Dad, however, Greg begins to back off. Meanwhile, Dad also has a new flame: a woman he met through a dating service.

Running November 25-December 11, 2016, "A Christmas Carol: The Radio Show" is a revival of last year's production of David Alberts' one-man show, originally produced in Dallas by One Thirty Productions. Favorite Dallas actor B.J. Cleveland revives his performance as a radio station manager at wits' end when the entire cast and orchestra of his radio show get snowed out of the station. He is forced to take over all 21 characters and do all the sound effects.

Kicking off the new year-December 29, 2016-February 12, 2017-is a bright, newly revitalized staging of the Theatre Too staple "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" by Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Roberts. Now in its seventeenth year, this annual production will receive an all-new staging by director B.J. Cleveland. The show, presented as a series of vignettes, is a musical revue about all of love's greatest challenges: dating, sex, marriage and family life.

"The Empress, The Lady, and The Pearl Part II; Miss Billie and Miss Freddie," running March 23-April 16, 2017, is a world premiere play-the sequel to this season's "Part I; The Empress and the Pearl" by local playwright diannetucker. Dallas cabaret favorite Denise Lee will star again in "Part II," this time as Billie Holiday in a story about the famed Lady Day and her traveling companion Miss Freddie.

Rounding out the Theatre Too season is Conor McPherson's thrilling play "The Birds" adapted from a story by Daphne du Maurier (also the basis for Alfred Hitchcock's classic film), running May 25-June 18, 2017. An unsettling and moving look at human relationships in the face of societal collapse, "The Birds" is set in an isolated house where strangers Nat and Diane take shelter from relentless masses of attacking birds. They find relative sanctuary but not comfort or peace. There's no electricity, little food, and a nearby neighbor may still be alive and watching them. Another refugee, the young and attractive Julia, arrives with some news of the outside world, but her presence also brings discord. Their survival becomes even more doubtful when paranoia takes hold of the makeshift fortress-an internal threat to match that of the birds outside.
