Rover Dramawerks has announced audition dates for its production of Edward Albee's Everything in the Garden. Auditions will take place Monday, March 29 and Tuesday, March 30 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Callbacks will be Wednesday, March 31.

"Keeping up with the Joneses" is a well-known sport in suburbia: McMansions, luxury cars, private schools.... Jenny and Richard are suburbanites living just above their means. When Jenny receives an unusual offer to make more money than they have ever dreamed of, money and possessions seduce their lives, and the slippery slope of compromise, convenience, and conspicuous consumption threaten to lay waste to the façade of their calm, middle-class neighborhood. A modern morality play that has never been more timely.

Appointments are required to audition. For an appointment time, please email audition09@roverdramawerks.com. Auditions will be at Rover Dramawerks' new office space, 521 J Place, Suite 629, between Plano Parkway and the Bush Turnpike, a half block west of Avenue K. For more information, visit http://roverdramawerks.com/.

This show was Rover's premiere production, and we are pleased to bring back "the show that started it all" for our 10th Anniversary Season.

Roles:
Richard - A pleasant looking man in his forties. He works hard as a research chemist to provide for his family, but somehow falls short of the financial goal that his neighbors appear to enjoy. His big wish is to afford a power mower.

Jenny - Rover's Artistic Director, Carol M. Rice, is pre-cast in this role. Richard's wife who is an attractive woman in her 40s. Mother to their son Roger. Traditional homemaker of the 1950s who especially loves tending to her garden. Her big wish is to have her own greenhouse.

Roger - Son to Richard and Jenny. "A nice looking boy of 14 or 15." Educated at a boarding school - but definitely has a mind of his own. In 10 years, he will definitely be a participant in the 1960s movements.

Jack - A neighbor with a sense of humor. A pleasant looking man in his 40s. He has his thumb on the pulse of his community and is not taken in by its allure.

Mrs. Toothe - A business woman at the helm of a thriving business. She is an elegant woman - a "handsome lady" over the age of 50. (British accent required.)

Chuck - A neighbor who has a career in high finance.

Beryl - Chuck's wife who enjoys the finer things of life including caviar brought in from the "city."

Gilbert - A neighbor who has a career in the world of "fancy" publishing.

Louise - Gilbert's wife who enjoys boasting about their "worldly possessions."

Perry - Friends and neighbors to Richard and Jenny. He has a career in Real Estate. Not as well-established as the Chuck and Gilbert.

Cynthia - Perry's wife. Friends to Richard and Jenny.

Other than the role of Jenny, all roles are available.
